The Opportunity

Start your engineering career by contributing to practical civil solutions for property and infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Section Manager, you'll support the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations, documentation and specifications. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you'll develop your technical capability while contributing to defined components of broader projects in the office and field.

You'll gain exposure to concept, feasibility and detailed design work, including stormwater drainage, erosion control and crossings for waterways, pipelines, rail and roads. The Impact You'll Have

  • Contribute to civil engineering calculations, drawings and designs for property and infrastructure projects.
  • Support concept, feasibility and detailed design documentation, incorporating technical feedback and progressing work through the required reviews.
  • Help prepare construction scopes, project specifications, services reviews, quantity estimates and opinions of probable cost.
  • Participate in project meetings and supervised site inspections involving clients, contractors, councils and regulatory authorities.
  • Strengthen project delivery by maintaining accurate records, communicating progress and completing assigned work to agreed timeframes, quality standards and budgets.
  • Support safe, high-quality outcomes by applying relevant Australian Standards, engineering codes, Fyfe's quality system and applicable WHS requirements under supervision.

What You'll Bring

You'll bring a strong foundation in civil engineering, an eagerness to learn and the motivation to develop through practical project experience.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  • A foundational understanding of civil engineering principles and relevant Australian Standards, guides and engineering codes.
  • High computer literacy and a willingness to develop your capability in relevant civil engineering software and project systems.
  • Sound mathematical, logical and analytical skills, with developing technical report-writing capability.
  • Effective written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute positively to multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to organise assigned tasks, work to agreed timeframes and quality standards, and communicate when guidance or support is required.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Exposure to property and infrastructure projects through university study, placements or work experience would be viewed favourably.
