Renewable Energy Intelligence | Fixed Term Contract (3-6 Months)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality & Research Analyst on a temporary basis to support a critical data normalisation programme across approximately 30 European markets.

This is an ideal role for someone with experience in research, data validation, GIS, energy intelligence, planning data, or structured data quality assurance.

Key Objective

Review and validate AI-generated wind farm project records to ensure they are ready for ingestion into our intelligence platform.

The successful candidate will be responsible for quality assurance activities rather than software development or data engineering.

Responsibilities

Data Validation & Quality Assurance

  • Review AI-normalised wind farm project records.
  • Validate project names against public sources.
  • Verify project phase information where available.
  • Review project clustering to ensure related developments are grouped correctly.
  • Identify duplicate, superseded and obsolete project entries.
  • Flag records requiring further investigation.

Research Activities

  • Validate project information using:
  • Planning portals
  • Government energy registries
  • Developer websites
  • Industry publications
  • Mapping tools and GIS sources
  • Investigate ambiguous or conflicting project information.
  • Document findings and maintain audit trails.

Data Management

  • Apply quality review classifications.
  • Maintain consistency of naming conventions.
  • Escalate complex cases to the Product and Research team.

Process Improvement

  • Provide feedback on recurring data quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve AI-assisted workflows.
  • Contribute to documentation and QA procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and structured datasets.
  • Ability to interpret and compare information from multiple sources.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and consistently follow defined processes.

Contract Details

Duration: 3-6 months

Location: Hybrid / Remote (UK)

Hours: Full-time preferred

Success Measures

By the end of the engagement, the contractor will have:

  • Reviewed and validated project master lists across approximately 30 European markets.
  • Reduced the backlog of records awaiting human review.
  • Improved confidence and consistency of project normalisation.
  • Supported the timely expansion of the Onshore Wind Intelligence Platform.

Notes for Recruiters

This role is not a software engineering, data science, machine learning or senior data analyst position.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys research, quality assurance, data validation and investigative desk-based work. Strong attention to detail, consistency and process adherence are more important than advanced technical skills.
