Course Specific Requirements
This role requires a graduate student to coordinate the planning, preparation, and delivery of the Fall 2A CIVE Design Days event in November 2026. CIVE Design Days is a two-day undergraduate design activity involving the design, construction, and testing of a model bridge as part of a broader engineering design challenge. Responsibilities include procuring and organizing materials, preparing event spaces, setting up and testing the bridge testing apparatus and data acquisition systems, coordinating logistics with technical and administrative staff, and leading the delivery of the two-day event. Applicants with experience in civil engineering laboratories, structural testing, data acquisition systems, or previous Design Days events are strongly encouraged to apply. Minimum undergraduate degree completion in civil engineering or related field and currently pursuing graduate studies in civil engineering or related fields required. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required. The student should be comfortable leading large groups of undergraduate students.
Compensation:
$49.14 / hour, plus 4% vacation pay (GRA – Masters)
