Learn to build real software, with AI at your side, on a product 1,200+ businesses rely on
REI Cloud is the property management and trust accounting platform built by the team behind REI Master. Australian-owned, 20+ years in the market, and used every day by holiday letting operators, permanent rental agencies, management rights businesses and serviced apartment groups across the country.
We're rebuilding and extending that platform on a modern Azure stack — and we're looking for one sharp graduate to join the dev team from the ground floor.
The role
This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity on a small team. There is no graduate program, no rotation, no six months of shadowing. You'll be given real work in your first week, your code will go in front of real customers, and you'll see the results of what you build.
You'll work alongside developers who know this industry inside out, on things like:
Building and shipping features in our line-of-business application used daily by property managers
Working across the stack — C#/.NET services, React/Angular + TypeScript and Blazor front ends, Azure SQL
Building and running workloads on Microsoft Azure
Trust accounting, bookings, channel management and inspections — complex, high-stakes domain logic where getting it right matters
Using Claude Code and AI pair-programming as a core part of how you work, not as a novelty
What we're looking for
Essential
A recent graduate in computer science, software engineering, IT or similar — or completing your degree at the end of 2026
Demonstrable fluency with AI-assisted development. Claude Code, or comparable tooling. You should be able to show us what you've built with it and talk through how you drove it
Solid fundamentals in C# or a similar object-oriented language, plus SQL
Some exposure to modern front-end development (React, Angular, TypeScript or Blazor)
The judgement to know when the AI is wrong, and the discipline to check
Nice to have
Personal projects, a GitHub profile, internships, hackathons or freelance work — anything that shows you build things because you want to
Any exposure to Microsoft Azure
Interest in property, accounting or fintech
Who fits here
We're a small team in one room. That means no egos and no passengers. You'll do interesting work and you'll do unglamorous work, often in the same day. You'll ask questions when you're stuck, take feedback without taking it personally, and be someone people are glad to sit next to day in day out. If that sounds like you, you'll do well here.
The non-negotiables
On-site, every day. This is a 100% in-office role at our Helensvale office. We've made that choice deliberately — a small team learns fastest and builds best in the same room, and as a graduate you'll get far more out of sitting beside developers than you would on a video call. If you're looking for hybrid or remote, this isn't the role for you.
Full, unrestricted working rights. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. We are not able to sponsor visas for this role.
Already living within commuting distance of Helensvale, or relocating at your own arrangement before you start.
Clear written and verbal communication in English, — you'll be talking directly with the team and, at times, with customers. Our existing team members are from a broad range of backgrounds, and many are multi lingual. Of course this is a bonus for us, but strong English skills is at the core of this role.
What you get
Real responsibility and real ownership from day one
Direct mentoring from developers with deep experience in the platform and the industry
Modern stack, modern tooling, and a company that actively wants you using AI to work faster
A stable, profitable, Australian-owned business with a 20-year customer base — the upside of a startup without the runway anxiety
Gold Coast lifestyle, 20 minutes from the beach, no city commute
How to apply
Apply through Seek with your CV and a short cover note. In the cover note, please answer this in a few short paragraphs:
Tell us about something you have built with the help of AI coding tools. What was it, what did you ask the AI to do, where did it get things wrong, and how did you work out that it was wrong?
Tell us how you already fit with the non-negotiable aspects of this role.
We read these. It's the main thing we'll use to shortlist, so put your effort there rather than into a generic letter. Include a link to your GitHub or a live project if you have one.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited in for a chat and a short practical exercise at our office.
Start date: Flexible/part-time for students graduating later this year, otherwise immediate start
We're hiring one person and we'll move quickly for the right candidate.
