Summary
Graduate Software Developer joining Shearwater's Technology & Innovation Centre in Høvik, Oslo from August 2027. Day to day you build and improve software for geophysical/seismic data acquisition and processing — Java/C++, large datasets, algorithms and signal processing — in a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting global fleet operations.
Some software is built for a screen. Ours must help acquire, process and understand geophysical data from beneath the ocean floor, reliably and at scale, in some of the world's most demanding operating environments.
At Shearwater, we develop technology that combines software, data science, electronics, sensors and engineering to support our global seismic operations. We are looking for a Graduate Software Developer to join our Technology & Innovation Centre in Høvik, Oslo from August 2027.

What Might You Work On?
Depending on your interests and strengths, you may be involved in:
- Developing software for geophysical data acquisition and processing
- Designing and implementing new features in Java, C++ or related technologies
- Building tools used onboard our vessels and by engineering teams onshore
- Working with large datasets, algorithms and signal processing techniques
- Improving system performance, reliability and automation
- Contributing to testing, validation and deployment of new technology
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve real-world engineering problems
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for candidates who will complete a Master's degree in 2027, preferably within:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Engineering Cybernetics
- Mathematics and Physics
- Applied Mathematics
- Data Science
- Computational Science
- Other relevant technical disciplines with a strong software and analytical focus
