Graduate Software Engineer
Graduate Software Engineer — AI Product / Distributed Web Systems
Acturia AI are building a modern, AI-first software platform and we’re looking for a small number of smart, ambitious graduate software engineers to join us.
This is not a maintenance role and it is not a large corporate environment where you disappear into one narrow task. You’ll work on real product problems, real users, and real code that ships into production.
You’ll be part of a small team building a connected platform across multiple systems, including backend services, APIs, AI workflows, retrieval pipelines, and frontend product features. The work is broad, practical, and fast-moving. You will be expected to learn quickly, think clearly, and take ownership.
What you’ll work on
AI-assisted product workflows and LLM-based system behaviour
Backend services and internal APIs across multiple connected systems
External integrations and API composition
Retrieval, structured/unstructured data pipelines, and background processes
Frontend product development using React and modern web tooling
Product features that cut across system boundaries, not just isolated tickets
What we’re looking for
A recent graduate in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong fundamentals in JavaScript or TypeScript
Comfortable with SQL and at least one backend framework
Able to think logically about how systems connect, not just how one page or one app works
Curious about AI tools, LLM workflows, and modern software development
Comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools effectively as part of your workflow
Strong problem-solving ability, clear communication, and willingness to learn quickly
Someone who wants exposure to real architecture, product thinking, and full-stack delivery
Nice to have
React and modern frontend tooling
Node.js experience
Postgres, Supabase, or similar database experience
Any project involving APIs, multiple services, RAG, embeddings, or AI workflows
Side projects, GitHub repos, demos, or technical write-ups that show how you think and build
Why this role is different
You’ll get exposure across product, backend, frontend, APIs, and AI systems
You’ll work closely with senior decision-makers and contributors
You’ll learn how real software is designed, connected, reviewed, and shipped
Small team, direct feedback, minimal bureaucracy
Real responsibility from early on
How to apply
Send a note about yourself, plus anything you’ve built that shows how you think — GitHub, demo, side project, write-up, portfolio, or similar.
We care far more about evidence of thinking, learning, and building than polished resumes.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
Location Macquarie Park NSW, on-site only.
