Graduate Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Summary

Build full-stack features in Vue.js and Node.js, integrate enterprise data sources, and embed LLM capabilities into an AI agent platform for ESG compliance automation.

Job description - Graduate Software Engineer (Full Stack)

We believe in the power of AI technology to transform ESG compliance and sustainability reporting. We're looking for game-changers who share our vision of empowering sustainability teams to focus on real decarbonization impact rather than drowning in compliance paperwork. If you want to launch your career at a venture-backed, purpose-driven AI startup that's making ESG reporting 10x faster and more efficient, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

We are looking for an exceptional Graduate Software Engineer (0-2 years of experience) to fuel our growth. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and work closely with the leadership team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with outstanding academic results who wants to build production software the AI-native way from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain features across our Vue.js frontend and Node.js backend
  • Build and optimize data pipelines that connect to enterprise data sources (SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive)
  • Develop RESTful APIs to support our AI agents (SUSAN and custom workflows)
  • Integrate LLM capabilities into the platform, working with AI coding tools and prompt engineering as a core part of your daily workflow
  • Own QA and testing: write automated tests, run structured UAT, maintain release checklists, and hold the quality bar for everything we ship
  • Work on our SOC 2 compliant infrastructure ensuring bank-grade security

What We're Looking For

  • 0-2 years of professional experience (recent graduates strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Exceptional academic record in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong backend fundamentals: APIs, databases, data pipelines, and Node.js (or the ability to pick it up fast)
  • AI-native mindset: you already use AI tools to write, review, and test code, and you want to get better at it
  • Meticulous attention to detail: thorough testing, careful QA, and pride in shipping work that doesn't break
  • Exposure to AWS or cloud development (Lambda, API Gateway, CI/CD pipelines) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts simply
  • Proactive ownership of features from conception to deployment
  • Understanding of ESG/sustainability reporting or willingness to learn quickly
  • Full Australian working rights (post-study work visa holders are welcome to apply)
  • This is a full time role based in our Fortitude Valley office with 1 day per week work from home (fully remote workers and recruitment consultancies need not apply)
  • Grow your career in a dynamic AI-first workplace with significant personal responsibility from day one
  • Strong graduate remuneration with equity options in a fast-growing, venture-backed climate tech startup
  • Work directly with cutting-edge AI technology and LLMs, mentored by the founding team
  • Great office in Fortitude Valley in the startup hub of Brisbane (Precinct)
  • Budget for career development and AI/ML training
  • Be part of a mission-driven team making real environmental impact
