Summary
Graphic Designer for the City of Pigeon Forge who creates digital and print marketing collateral, maintains the city website on the CivicPlus platform, and keeps brand consistency across departments. Core tools are Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Nature of Work
This position is responsible for creating and communicating ideas that inform, inspire, and promotes the City of Pigeon Forge. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing creative work for digital and print collateral while maintaining consistent brand guidelines. Activities associated with the position include but not limited to developing print materials, maintain brand consistency, work alongside various departments for updates to city website. The ideal candidate should have strong design skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a passion for turning ideas into effective visual communications. Job performance is evaluated by the Director of Tourism and Special Events through review of the effectiveness of creativity and ideas, effective communication with all city departments, and strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.

- Create engaging graphics for websites, social media, print collateral, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Maintain and update the city website using the CivicPlus platform.
- Communicate website updates with all departments across the city to assure each department page and information in current and up to date.
- Develop print materials such as brochures, flyers, signage, business cards, and promotional materials and more.
- Follow consistent brand guidelines across all visual communications.
- Collaborate with departments across the city to understand project details, deadlines and requirements.
- Translate concepts and ideas into visually compelling designs.
- Prepare files for digital and print production, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Edit and retouch photographs, illustrations, and other visual assets as needed.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Stay current with design trends, software, technology, and industry best practices.
- Organize and maintain design files, templates, brand assets, and project resources.
- Performs related duties as required.
Necessary Requirements of Work
High School Diploma and or equivalent GED required; Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field preferred; 3+ years of professional graphic design experience preferred; a professional portfolio of design work required; Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; Experience designing for both digital and print platforms; Strong understanding of typography, composition, brand colors, layout, and visual interest; Ability to receive constructive feedback and incorporate revisions effectively; Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and organizational skills; or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience to provide the following knowledge, abilities and skills:
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong knowledge of typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and layout principles.
- Strong oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local and regional tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants, excursions, transportation services, etc.
- Knowledge with video editing, motion graphics, or animation.
- Knowledge of web design.
- Ability to create a website, social media and digital marketing content.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and activities to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to have a creative mindset to be able to bring a design to life with simple instructions.
- Ability to make timely and appropriate decisions in accordance with established operational policies and procedures.
- Ability to present ideas clearly and accept constructive feedback.
- Ability to switch between projects or pivot quickly should the requirements of the project change.

Necessary Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver’s license and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates
Physical Requirements
- This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Work requires stooping, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
