Location - Honiara, Solomon Islands

Fixed Term Contract Until 20 August 2027


Cognition Education is seeking the services of a Graphic Designer to support the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) in the development of high-quality teaching and learning materials for senior secondary schools in the Solomon Islands.

The Graphic Designer will contribute to the design, layout, and production of engaging educational resources using Adobe Creative Cloud. Working collaboratively with curriculum specialists, writers, editors, and project teams, the successful candidate will create visually appealing and effective learning materials that enhance educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality teaching and learning materials that meet approved design standards and project requirements.
  • Create illustrations, diagrams, infographics, and other visual assets that support learning objectives and enhance student engagement.
  • Format educational content accurately and consistently across a range of publications.
  • Ensure consistency in branding, design, and formatting across all assigned resources.
  • Collaborate effectively with writers, editors, curriculum specialists, and project team members to deliver resources within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain organised project files and comply with agreed version control and document management practices.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure all materials meet required standards.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related discipline desired but not essential.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a graphic design role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience designing educational, corporate, or learning materials is desirable.
  • Experience working in a collaborative project environment is desirable.
