GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Job Description & Requirements
- Meet with clients or art directors to determine project scope, requirements, timescale, and budget
- Create visual elements such as logos, original images, illustrations, and graphics using digital software and hand-drawing techniques
- Design layouts including selection of colors, images, typefaces, font styles and sizes, and arrangement of copy and illustrative material
- Use digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to prepare designs and mock-ups
- Develop concepts, graphics, and layouts based on agreed briefs, making decisions about readability and visual impact
- Prepare rough drafts and present design concepts to clients, stakeholders, or senior leadership
- Incorporate changes and feedback recommended by clients into final designs while managing expectations
- Review final layouts for errors and suggest improvements before printing or publishing
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, keeping stakeholders updated on progress and meeting deadlines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including writers, marketers, product engineers, and other designers for cohesive deliverables
- Liaise with external printers or production teams to ensure material is produced to the highest quality
- Stay up to date with design trends, software updates, and industry best practices
- Maintain and update portfolio with professional work samples demonstrating design capabilities
