About The Role
WECC is seeking a Graphic Design and Multimedia Specialist to create effective visual communications that advance the organization’s mission and business goals. In this role, you will develop engaging, professional materials for internal and external audiences, translating technical information and data into clear, accessible visual stories. You will collaborate with colleagues across the organization, including strategic engagement, external affairs, and training and outreach teams, to produce consistent and compelling assets for digital and print channels.
The successful candidate will bring strong design and multimedia production skills, along with practical experience using generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools. You will help integrate AI into creative workflows to support quality, efficiency, personalization, and innovation while following organizational requirements and protecting sensitive information. This role requires a minimum of 15% travel, with additional travel possible depending on business needs.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multimedia, visual communications, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered. Candidates should have at least three years of professional experience leading graphic design and multimedia communications, preferably in a technical or regulated organization, and a portfolio demonstrating work across digital, print, and video formats.
Qualified candidates bring advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro, as well as Canva. They understand design fundamentals, multimedia production, brand and writing guidelines, AP style, and how to adapt technical content for diverse audiences, including executives, board members, stakeholders, and the public. Experience with generative AI design tools and evaluating emerging creative technologies is required. Strong collaboration, attention to detail, initiative, computer literacy, and sound cybersecurity practices are also important.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain high-quality visual assets for digital and print use, including brochures, presentations, social media graphics, infographics, and branded materials. Work with colleagues to strengthen WECC’s brand identity and ensure communications consistently reflect the organization’s voice, mission, culture, and Long-term Strategy. Develop branded templates and asset libraries in Canva and Adobe applications, and create data-driven graphics, charts, and tables for board and executive presentations.
Produce and edit videos, motion graphics, animations, multimedia presentations, webinars, and podcasts. Support visual storytelling for WECC’s website, intranet, social media, and other communications channels. Manage photography, image editing, audio enhancement, video post-production, and file preparation for publishing, production, and distribution. Ensure that deliverables meet technical specifications for each platform, maintain organized digital assets in partnership with relevant teams, and use AI tools thoughtfully to improve creative workflows and outputs.
Benefits
The base salary range for this full-time position is $62,000 to $72,900, plus discretionary pay and benefits. Compensation within the range depends on job-related skills, experience, education, and training.
