Griffin Investments Director of Fund Operations
A Director of Fund Operations at Griffin Investments helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture.
About the Firm: Griffin Investments is a family investment office-anchored private capital platform managing a growing portfolio of oil and gas mineral interests across major U.S. basins. The firm manages multiple investment vehicles serving ultra-high net worth individuals and family office investors, with an active pipeline of mineral acquisitions and an expanding product suite. This is a high-growth platform with a small, senior team where individual contributors have outsized impact.
Job Summary: As Director of Fund Operations, you will own the operational backbone of Griffin Investments' platform, from LP lifecycle management and fund accounting coordination to energy asset administration and internal systems. You will report directly to the Director of Investments and serve as the central connection point between our investment team, finance function, external service providers, and investor base. This is not a back-office support role, you will take full ownership of mission-critical fund operations across multiple vehicles, interface directly with LPs and operators without supervision, and build scalable processes for a platform that is actively growing in fund count, deployment volume, and assets under management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own the full LP lifecycle, including prospect intake, subscription document review, investor documentation and compliance verification, Juniper Square record creation, and welcome communications.
- Execute capital call and distribution cycles end-to-end, calculating amounts, preparing call and distribution notices from templates, coordinating wires with Finance, posting to Juniper Square, updating capital accounts, and reconciling.
- Maintain the distribution tracker across all funds, manage LP portal access and notification lists, and triage inbound LP inquiries within defined response time standards, escalating as appropriate.
- Maintain the MineralSoft platform, including user administration, new asset and well data uploads, well and lease mapping verification, and month- and year-end file management.
- Set up and maintain fund entity subaccounts in MineralWare, manage EnergyLink operator connections and manual revenue entries, and oversee operator account transfers, suspense resolution, and title-related transitions.
- Coordinate annual K-1 production with Finance and KPMG, compiling LP capital schedules, state allocations, Drilling Info exports, entity-level data packages, and distribution records.
- Collect, track, and internally distribute quarterly and annual LP reports from external fund sponsors, maintain the K-1 receipt tracker, support annual FMV calculations and asset allocation updates, and manage the annual W-9 refresh for all active entities.
- Coordinate IT service requests and internal technology issue triage, support new employee onboarding including IT provisioning, workspace setup, and orientation scheduling, and maintain standardized folder hierarchy and file naming conventions across SharePoint.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.
Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, or special projects/events. This position may be eligible to work remotely on occasion and at the discretion of the supervisor.
