Job Overview:

Food & Customer Service is our focus – we give a fork! As a member of our Kitchen Team, you’re an important part of the guest experience: often the friendly face behind the counter! You’ll prepare and serve food with care, keep the kitchen and service areas clean and organized, and help maintain smooth, fast service. Kitchen team members are trained to handle multiple roles to support both back-of-house prep and guest-facing service, ensuring every meal meets Farmer J’s high standards for quality and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare menu items quickly and accurately to Farmer J’s recipes and standards
• Provide friendly, attentive service to guests and answer menu questions confidently
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Keep prep and service areas clean, stocked, and organized
• Receive and check deliveries, rotate stock using FIFO, and minimize waste
• Maintain proper portion control and food presentation
• Communicate clearly with guests and team members
• Support cleaning, closing, and other roles as needed during busy periods
• Stay flexible and work as a team to keep service running smoothly

Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in a high-volume, high-quality fast-casual or café-style restaurants
• Appreciation for real food: scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, and sustainable practices
• Comfortable using Point of Sales System and other restaurant systems
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
• Team player: collaborative, positive and always ready to pitch in
• Calm under pressure and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Thrives in a fast-pace kitchen environment
• A strong attention to detail
• Ability to work a Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Authorized to work in the United States
