Grocery Clerk

Position Summary:

To maintain pricing, stocking, facing and rotation of merchandise in the grocery area as well as performing other functions as required, depending on work loads and scheduling, in an efficient manner within company policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observe all company policies and procedures;
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and adhere to dress code regulations;
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations;
• Assist in monitoring procedures for restocking to ensure accuracy, proper product rotation and quality protection;
• Open cartons properly to control potential for damage to goods and handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy;
• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control;
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures;
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
• Keep refrigerated coolers, store shelves and other displays fully stocked and faced at all times according to tag all location or department standards;
• Assist in building store displays for maximum sales and turnover; display merchandise in a neat manner;
• Keep perishable merchandise rotated in accordance with policy and product code dates and pull all out-of-code merchandise;
• Order merchandise and maintain inventory control to minimize out-of-stocks and over stocks and to maximize sales and turnover;
• Face all products in assigned sections in accordance with company policy prior to leaving at the end of scheduled shift.
