Ground Software Engineering Intern
York’s Ground Software team is looking for a Software Engineering Intern who is passionate about building software that pushes the bounds of what's possible. Our team builds and maintains a modern web-based application (React/TypeScript, C# .NET) backed by a microservice infrastructure (Docker, Kafka, REST) that operators use to monitor and control constellations of spacecraft across several active missions. Interns have the opportunity to work across this full stack based on project needs, contributing to features that will impact real operations once completed.
This role is designed for new engineers who are eager to grow quickly in a technically demanding environment with early-stage development experience. You'll work alongside experienced engineers who will support your growth through mentorship, code reviews, and collaborative design discussions. At the end of your internship, you will be able to show off a major feature that you have contributed to the common codebase with a high likelihood of seeing it used by operators on an active mission. The problems we work on are complex, and you’ll be supported by your team and leadership as you grow into that complexity and make your project a success.
Prior space-industry experience is not required.
