Ground Support Safety Operator

Role Overview

The Ground Support Safety Operator will provide on-road safety support during autonomous vehicle testing and operations.

The role involves driving designated safety vehicles along assigned routes and supporting the protection of pedestrians, other road users and autonomous vehicles during operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive safety/support vehicles along designated operational routes.

• Provide ground-level safety support during autonomous vehicle operations.

• Monitor road conditions, pedestrians, surrounding vehicles and potential hazards.

• Support hardware and software update testing activities.

• Assist during autonomous vehicle road testing and routine road-running operations.

• Support special experience sessions and VIP activities.

• Provide ground support during operational and cloud-cabin testing.

• Communicate potential hazards or operational issues to the relevant teams.

• Respond appropriately to changing road and traffic conditions.

• Maintain safe driving standards and comply with all operational procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Valid UAE driving licence.

• Strong driving record and knowledge of road safety practices.

• Previous experience in professional driving, fleet operations, transportation, automotive testing or similar operations is preferred.

• Strong situational awareness.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to follow designated routes and operational instructions accurately.

• Safety-focused, reliable and comfortable working in an operational road environment.
