Position Overview
Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. is seeking dependable and motivated Grounds Maintenance Laborers to help maintain the appearance and safety of Clay County facilities and grounds.
In this role, you will perform a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance duties using both gas-powered and manual lawn care equipment. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, values teamwork, takes pride in quality work, and is committed to maintaining safe and attractive public spaces.
What You'll Do
Grounds Maintenance
- Mow, edge, trim, weed, and blow debris from lawns, sidewalks, and landscaped areas.
- Maintain the appearance of Clay County buildings and surrounding grounds.
- Perform seasonal grounds maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Complete assigned work according to established schedules and quality standards.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Safely operate gas-powered and manual lawn maintenance equipment.
- Conduct equipment safety inspections before each use.
- Clean, maintain, and prepare equipment for the next workday.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment as assigned.
- Transport and secure equipment safely during work activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow all agency safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment while operating equipment.
- Promptly report safety concerns, equipment issues, or incomplete work to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.
Customer Service & Teamwork
- Provide courteous and professional customer service.
- Promote positive relationships with Clay County staff and customers.
- Work independently and collaboratively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
