Groundskeeper
Summary
Maintains outdoor spaces at a science center, including landscaping, equipment upkeep, and snow/ice management, working mornings and occasional weekends.
The Greensboro Science Center is seeking an energetic, motivated, and hard-working team member for part-time hire for a new grounds care position.
Primary duties include daily morning campus maintenance prior to visitors, substrate management, mulching, equipment servicing & repair, debris and compost management, downed tree clearing, storm wash & erosion control measures, foundational landscape care, invasive plant management, campus safety & perimeter checks, and grounds-related structural campus developments or repairs. Winter season includes snow/ice management as needed. Position reports to and works with the Horticulture Curation and Lead members.
Applicants must be available to work mornings. Most days start at 7am and end at 1pm. Five-day work week that may include weekends. A flexible seasonal timeframe may shift with Events, Daylight Hours, or Inclement Weather.
Must be able to work in various outdoor weather conditions. Perform safe operations of utility vehicles and power equipment, such as: Leaf Blower, String Trimmer, Tractor, Skid Steer etc. Will be trained and certified in the safe use of any Power Equipment.

Qualifications
Related work experience in grounds care work is desired. Applicants must have a valid North Carolina drivers license.
