Role Description The Duty Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore, responsible for overseeing daily pub operations to ensure a consistently high standard of service. This role includes supervising front-of-house staff, managing shift schedules, monitoring floor activities, and supporting smooth opening and closing procedures. The Duty Manager handles guest inquiries and feedback, assists in resolving operational issues, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role also involves coordinating with kitchen and bar teams, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting promotional and event activities to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue. The Duty Manager is expected to lead by example, maintain a positive work environment, and provide clear communication to team members and management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or food and beverage operations, with a strong focus on guest service and relationship management.
  • Leadership and people management abilities, including supervising teams, managing shifts, and supporting staff performance and development.
  • Operational and organizational skills, such as handling opening/closing procedures, overseeing inventory, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills, including managing guest feedback, coordinating across departments, and responding calmly to unexpected situations.
  • Ability to work on-site in Singapore, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by business needs.
  • Prior experience in a bar, pub, or restaurant setting is highly advantageous; exposure to themed or international hospitality concepts is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in point-of-sale systems and familiarity with cash handling and reporting processes.
  • Relevant certification in hospitality management, food safety, or customer service is beneficial, though equivalent work experience will be considered.
