Group Exercise Leader / Fitness Center / PRN
Summary of Performance Expectations:
Responsible for the instruction of group-based exercise programs for fitness members. Teaches members proper techniques of exercise and proper use of exercise equipment. Leads exercise classes and/or pool classes.
Education & Credentials:
Required
High School diploma or equivalent. BCLS for healthcare providers or completion of BCLS from the American Heart Association within one month of employment date.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology or related health field. ACSM certified health and fitness instructor or equivalent certification as a group exercise instructor.
Work Experience:
Required
Three months instructor experience in training discipline. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred
Six months or more experience instructor experience in training discipline.
