Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Our client, a leading and fast-growing conglomerate in Papua New Guinea, is seeking a dynamic Group HR Director to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple subsidiaries.

This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Group CEO with a dotted line to the Board. You will lead the Group HR team and partner closely with executive leadership to drive organisational growth, culture, and people capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Group-wide people strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Oversee HR governance, compliance, risk management, and policy across 56 subsidiaries.
• Lead talent acquisition, mobility, and workforce planning across local and expatriate staff (>70% local workforce).
• Drive reward and benefits strategies, performance management, and leadership development.
• Manage industrial and employee relations (IR/ER)
• Champion organizational culture, employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
• Implement HR technology solutions and data-driven decision-making processes.
• Support community engagement, CSR initiatives, and employer brand reputation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in HR/IR, Business, Psychology, or related (postgraduate/MBA preferred).
• 1215+ years senior HR leadership experience, ideally in a conglomerate or multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proven success in OD, reward architecture, and IR/ER negotiations.
• Prior PNG exposure is preferred not a must
• Strong cross-cultural leadership and expatriate workforce management experience.
