About the role

A Development Role With Real Ownership:

Working as part of the international Group IT Team, we are seeking an experienced IT professional who enjoys both developing business systems and helping colleagues get the most from technology.

This is a hands-on role supporting employees at Mitchells Equipment Australia, as well as colleagues based in the UK and China. While the position is primarily focused on developing and improving our business systems, you will also be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT queries and technical support within our Sydney office and provide first-response support for colleagues in China during Australian business hours. Approximately 70% of the role is development-focused and 30% is dedicated to IT support and administration

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and enhancement of the group's Epicor Kinetic ERP: BAQs, dashboards, BPMs, screen customisations and integrations via the Epicor REST API

  • Develop and maintain Salesforce CRM: configuration, flows and automation, integrations with ERP and email-driven processes

  • Build and maintain in-house web dashboards, reports and internal applications (SQL, REST APIs, modern web front-ends) used across the group

  • Work within the Group's development standards: source control and work-item tracking in Azure DevOps, peer review with the UK team, and controlled deployment to production systems

  • Gather requirements from local and Group stakeholders and turn them into deliverable, supportable solutions

  • Provide first and second-line IT support for the Sydney office and first-response support for Nanjing users during Australian hours

  • Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), Entra ID and Intune in line with group policies

  • Maintain endpoint protection, firewall policies and other security controls in line with group security standards

  • Manage and maintain on-site hardware, networking and infrastructure, and support a mixed device estate (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android)

  • Collaborate daily with the UK-based group IT team, with structured handover across time zones

About you

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, OR demonstrable experience with a portfolio of delivered development work

  • 4+ years in a development, applications analyst or systems role (not solely helpdesk/support)

  • Demonstrable ERP and/or CRM development experience — able to show real work: reports, dashboards, customisations, automations or integrations

  • Strong SQL (queries, views, data analysis against a production database)

  • Experience using and building against REST APIs (authentication, JSON, OData or similar)

  • At least one general-purpose programming language (C#/.NET preferred; JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or similar considered)

  • Comfortable with source control (Git) and working to a shared development process

  • Solid Microsoft 365 and Windows administration experience sufficient to run a small office's IT independently

  • Self-sufficient and delivery-focused — comfortable being the only technical person on site while working as part of a remote Group team

  • Clear communicator across time zones and cultures; able to run a structured daily handover with the UK and support colleagues in China

Benefits

  • Company laptop and mobile phone

  • Key development role in a new Group-wide Shared Services function — direct influence over the Group's ERP and CRM roadmap

  • International exposure: daily collaboration with the UK team and support of the Nanjing site, Australia second site, North & South America, with potential for travel

  • Career growth into senior/lead development or solution architecture as the shared services function grows

  • Flexible working by arrangement, balanced against on-site support needs
