Summary
Group Leader at GLCAC's Child Care Center providing academic support and enrichment for students under the Child Care Center Director. Daily work involves supervising children, planning developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining EEC licensing compliance, and classroom upkeep.
To represent the GLCAC, Child Care Center personally, professionally and in a manner in accordance with the mission and goals of the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Inc. The Group Leader, under the supervision of the Child Care Center Director, provides academic support and facilities enrichment opportunities for students in a safe and positive environment.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Director to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
- Ensure and maintain quality of program and that it meets EEC Licensing Requirements, QRIS Standards, and complies with all safety regulations.
- Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of children, lesson planning and daily attendance.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the child care classroom.
- If available, support staff breaks, callouts and open positions by demonstrating flexibility with schedules, teamwork, and families.
- Create meaningful connections, with children to enhance the foundation for social-emotional skills.
- Uphold the vision, professionalism and philosophies of Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Inc. Child Care Center.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and situations requiring first aid and/or CPR.
- All other duties as assigned.
