Marketing Associate (Japanese / Operations) (1 year contract)

Role Summary

We're hiring a Marketing Associate to join our small, high-leverage Growth team. This is an entry-to-junior role designed for someone early in their marketing career who wants to grow quickly by owning meaningful work from day one — across three pillars: Japan Market Marketing, Multi-Market Campaign Execution, and Marketing Operations.

We're a small team in a fast-moving startup. Your center of gravity is Japan, but you'll also own pieces of Korea-market execution and occasionally support global campaigns where an extra pair of hands moves the needle.

This position is based in Seoul, South Korea.

*Please note that the official job title will be Marketing Manager
*This is a 1 year contract position, with a possibility of conversion to full time/permanent position

Responsibilities

Japanese Marketing & Localization

- Serve as the day-to-day marketing point of contact for ProtoPie's Japanese sales representative and the reselling partner.

- Co-plan and execute joint marketing programs with the partners — webinars, events, digital campaigns, co-branded content — that drive pipeline for both sides.

- Enable partners with localized sales collateral, campaign assets, product updates, and playbooks so they can go to market effectively.

- Localize global marketing assets — landing pages, emails, ads, social copy, webinar decks, sales enablement — into natural, culturally fluent Japanese.

Multi-Market Campaign Execution

- Execute end-to-end delivery of webinars, events, and product launch campaigns across Japan and Korea — from setup and logistics to promotion and post-event follow-up.

- Support the Enterprise demand generation and ABM programs with campaign assets, list preparation, and follow-up workflows as needed.

- Occasionally support global campaigns where JP/KR context or an extra pair of hands is needed.

- Track campaign performance (registrations, attendance, MQLs, pipeline influence) and share concise readouts after each program.

Marketing Operations

- Keep our MarTech stack — CMS, CRM, marketing automation, event platforms — clean and well-documented (list hygiene, UTM discipline, campaign taxonomy).

- Build and maintain campaign workflows: email sequences, forms, landing pages, lead routing, and reporting dashboards.

- Help operationalize recurring reporting so the team can see what's working without having to ask.

- Learn to spot and flag data quality issues before they become pipeline issues.

Qualifications

Must

- 1–2 years of marketing, campaign, or operations experience at a SaaS, tech, or agency environment.

- Strong execution habits: organized, detail-oriented, follows through, communicates status without being asked.

- Japanese fluency — native to business-advanced level (JLPT N1 or equivalent working proficiency). You can localize copy so it reads as if it were written in Japanese, not translated into it.

- Business-level English — comfortable joining meetings, reading and writing Slack/email/docs with global teammates, and giving a short verbal update in English.

- Confident use of productivity tools — Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Comfortable building a clean deck, structuring a spreadsheet with basic formulas, and collaborating in shared docs.

- Curiosity about how marketing systems and data work — you don't need to know Salesforce or CMS tool on day one, but you should want to learn them well.

Plus

- Hands-on experience with any MarTech tool — Salesforce, MailChimp, Drip, Zapier, Google Analytics, Amplitude, Zoom Webinar, etc.

- Experience running or supporting webinars, offline events, or product launch campaigns.

- Exposure to B2B SaaS, PLG (product-led growth), or Enterprise sales motions.

- Experience working with reselling partners, channel partners, or distributors — or comfort operating in a partner-led go-to-market environment.

- Interest in design, software development, or the design-tools ecosystem.
