This is a U.S. based remote position. While this role does not require in-person attendance, we have a strong preference for candidates based in or near one of these cities: San Francisco CA, Portland OR, Seattle WA, Denver CO, and New York NY. Being in one of these cities creates opportunities to connect with teammates through Trail Days, co-working sessions, and local gatherings while still having the flexibility to work remotely. San Francisco employees are highly encouraged to come to the office one day per week.
About The Role
AllTrails is looking for a Growth Product & Business Analyst hybrid to help inform our strategy and grow our business by proactively generating insights that identify new opportunities, guiding how we iterate on existing features to drive business outcomes, and partnering with product managers & finance analysts on their day to day launches and ops. This role will report to an Analytics Lead, and will partner closely with product managers, finance analysts, engineers, and marketers, to uncover new ways of scaling AllTrails growth.
What you'll be doing

Break down complex business and user behavior problems to uncover actionable insights that move core metrics.

Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Finance to execute in-depth analyses and inform strategic decisions.

Design, launch, and analyze A/B experiments and growth initiatives to optimize user conversion and retention.

Standardizing business performance reporting metrics based on key objectives and collaborating cross functionally to drive alignment and consistency in measurement

Proactively monitor relevant KPIs, flagging potential performance improvements to the team early and often, and keeping the team informed of progress

Identifying technical and strategic gaps in our analytics infrastructure and recommending solutions
What you bring

2+ years of work experience in analytics, data science, finance, or other quantitative domains, specifically financial, product and / or user behavior analysis for B2C teams

Understanding of A/B testing or experimentation and incrementality concepts

Proficiency in pulling and joining large data sets with SQL and performing analysis using tools such as Python, R, or Excel

Proficiency in designing and building dashboards with tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Amplitude

An understanding and excitement in building out optimized tables and views in a Data Warehouse/Marts

Strong attention to detail, analytical, and a problem solver

Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade and inspire, a knack for breaking down complex concepts, and a proactive attitude towards knowledge sharing
Bonus points

Bottoms-up, cohorted subscription revenue experience

B2C mobile subscription software or internet company experience

Startup experience or experience working at a company that has scaled quickly

Experience with dBT, Dataform, Looker, Amplitude, Jira, Confluence, Coda, and/or Github
