Guitar Department Student Assistant
Summary
Administrative role assisting the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music with office tasks, student coordination, and library management.
In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

Guitar Department Office Assistants work in the Guitar Office in 921 Boylston St. and report to the Guitar Department Coordinator and Senior Coordinator. This position is for the Fall 2026 semester with the potential to continue employment in future semesters.Duties and Responsibilities:
The Guitar Department Office Assistant will primarily assist with departmental tasks such as:
Serve as a greeter/receptionist
Respond to office phone calls and manage emails sent to the Guitar Department inbox
Help with general office operations including keeping files, entering and retrieving data, organizing office supplies, checking mail, and photocopying
Assist the Chair, Assistant Chair, Coordinators,and faculty with various projects
Daily inventory of the Guitar Library
Oversee and manage the Faculty Lab/Room signout documents
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Self-motivated and conscientious worker
Excellent communication/people skills
Keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
Experience with Google Apps (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
