Gymnastics Instructor (part-time)
JOB SUMMARY: The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for teaching a range of gymnastics classes from toddler through advanced team levels in a manner that promotes growth and learning. This position requires a variety of duties including, possessing a thorough understanding of the program’s operation and guidelines, maintaining good communication, weekly preparation, and documentation. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:
* Teach groups of 8-16 children on all gymnastics apparatus with fun and excitement
* Teach participants to “try again” and the importance of determination
* Assist in curriculum planning
* Attend all staff meetings as required
* Participate in all planned activities and special activities on a daily basis
* Set up and clean up practice and storage areas before and after each class
* Complete all necessary forms as needed (lesson plans, accident reports, and student evaluations)
* Insure the safety of students at all times
* Maintain good communication with parents keeping them informed of activities and child’s progress
* Attend 16 hours of in-service training per year
* Adhere to the general rules and policies of the Rolling Meadows Park District
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 16 years of age with successful experience in gymnastics and working with children. CPR/ AED/ First Aid certification required. USAG competitive gymnastics and/or college level competition experience a plus. Outgoing, responsible, and motivated individual is crucial.
SCHEDULE & PAY: Schedule is flexible and varies based on enrollment needs. Hours range from weekday morning, afternoon and evening hours and Saturdays between 9am-3pm. Full pay range for this position is $15.00-$28.00 hourly, depending upon qualifications. Plus applicable facility and program discounts.
