Habitat Area Lead (Fish and Wildlife Administrator)

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), this position is in EWM (Idaho/Montana Implementation) unit of the Fish & Wildlife Program (EW), Environment, Fish & Wildlife (E). A successful candidate will serve as a Habitat Area Lead (Fish and Wildlife Administrator) responsible for performing professional scientific work involved in the implementation or the development of policy to support fish and wildlife protection, mitigation and enhancement.

As a Fish and Wildlife Administrator, you will: Initiate, formulate plan, and execute major studies and projects to continue specialized fish and wildlife protection, mitigation, and enhancement projects that represent a significant part of the F&W program. Use findings of specialized studies, new analytical developments, and modified processes to resolve novel, obscure, or highly controversial problems that affect the program area. Work at a programmatic level to develop and implement processes and procedures to support the internal project management and funding award processes with Procurement and environmental issues with the BPA's Environmental Compliance group. Provide program leadership in analyzing proposals, projects and funding agreements by applying ecological and fisheries management principles to assess the most effective and scientifically sound methods to protect, mitigate, and enhance for hydro system impacts to fish and wildlife. Serve as a COR for agreements resulting from assigned projects. As a COR, works with internal procurement staff and external entities to develop statements of work, budgets, schedules, and deliverables consistent with agency financial, policy, and/or biological objectives. Represent BPA scientific programmatic positions when attending and participating in site visits and project/program reviews under the F&W Program to provide technical and scientific assessments. Develop/improve/implement intra- and inter-department mentoring program for newer and/or existing F&W employees with the goal of increased organizational productivity and career development.
