Handling Engineer

Objectives\:

  • The R&H development Engineer is accountable for China-specific Ride & Handling system integration across vehicle projects, ensuring target achievement at overall vehicle level (performance, robustness, customer perception) in alignment with global Mercedes-Benz standards. Experience with Chassis Tuning and/or ESP/EPS Integration testing background preferred.

Derive and implement China specific requirements, based on own experience and in cooperation with other RD departments.

  • Communicate and drive the implementation of the CHN specifics and uniques in vehicle projects (via project and function integration groups) and functional and module strategies (China Requirement Working Groups, collaboration with RD in the VF* and SK FV).

  • Define and align R&H performance targets in the corresponding committees. Develop respective measures together with relevant RD functions.

Development and adjustment of R&H functional testing to China specific conditions and requirement.

  • Identify most harming and customer related parameters based on field researches, customer observation and feedback.

  • Define and implement the CHN requirements with the Concept&Spec-Books.

  • Develop and align R&H testing procedures to meet major use cases in China.

  • Drive component development according to the new function targets.

  • Ensure the timely implementation of the local optimizations.

Plan and conduct R&H testing in China

  • Coordinate handling development within RD and supplier.

  • Plan required vehicles to implement testing and organize R&H release in accordance with project plan or MDS process.

  • Vehicle, parts and resources preparation.

  • Coordinate tests on test benches of GRC and 3rd parties.

  • Conduct R&H tests and measurements according to MB standards.

  • Regularly report testing progress.

Issue finding, tracking and documentation

  • Proper documentation of any issue findings in systems accordingly.

  • Reproduce issues and support further analysis.

  • Report the updated failure solving status at issue tracking platforms.
