Handyman (FIV)

This position is responsible for performing thorough cleaning of industrial machines and equipment, as well as maintaining general cleanliness throughout the building. The cleaner works closely with the maintenance and production teams to ensure that machines are cleaned in accordance with company procedures and production schedules, without compromising safety or operations. The Machine and Facility Cleaner helps ensure the facility complies with all internal cleanliness standards and external health, safety, and environmental regulations.

DESCRIPTION

• Perform routine inspections and basic repairs on doors, windows, floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture.
• Repair and patch drywall, paint surfaces, replace ceiling tiles, and fix minor carpentry issues.
• Replace light bulbs, fuses, switches, and perform basic electrical maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, supply areas, and workshop.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests from different departments.
• Use tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Monitor building systems and report issues to the supervisor

COMPETENCIES

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and correctly.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for long periods.
• Work indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Our work environment is in warehouses that are mostly climate controlled. However, Houston is hot and humid in summer months and cool winters. Need to be able to tolerate heat and cold accordingly.
