Summary

A hands-on field supervisor/project manager overseeing multiple residential outdoor living construction projects (paver patios, pool decks, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens) in the Bluffton/Hilton Head Lowcountry area — leading field crews and subcontractors, managing budgets, schedules, permits, logistics, and homeowner communication, with a company vehicle and benefits provided.

Hardscape Field Supervisor / Project Manager

About the Opportunity

Our client is an established and growing hardscape contractor serving the Hilton Head, Bluffton, Savannah, and surrounding Lowcountry markets. Their work includes paver installations, patios, pool decks, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor living spaces, and other custom hardscape projects for both residential and commercial clients.

They are seeking an experienced, hands-on Hardscape Field Supervisor / Project Manager who can lead field operations, manage multiple projects and crews, and keep the people, materials, equipment, and logistics behind each job moving efficiently.

Position Overview

This is not a traditional commercial construction Project Manager role. Projects move quickly, multiple jobs may be underway at once, crews rotate between sites, and priorities can change throughout the day.

The right person will be comfortable moving between the field, yard, and office and taking ownership of the details required to keep projects running smoothly. This person needs to be both a strong project manager and field leader—someone who can manage budgets and schedules while also working directly with crews, subcontractors, homeowners, general contractors, builders, and other project partners.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee multiple active residential and commercial hardscape projects from start to finish.
  • Supervise field crews and subcontractors while maintaining expectations for quality, productivity, and accountability.
  • Coordinate daily logistics, including manpower, materials, equipment, trailers, tools, and scheduling across multiple active job sites.
  • Serve as a primary field contact for homeowners, general contractors, builders, and other project partners, providing proactive communication throughout each project.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor quality, safety, progress, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and solve field issues quickly to minimize delays and keep projects moving.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, change orders, documentation, and project reporting.
  • Coordinate inspections and project closeout activities as needed.
  • Help maintain the organization and readiness of the yard, fleet, tools, and equipment.
  • Work closely with ownership and office staff to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and profitable.
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, subcontractors, customers, builders, and general contractors.
  • Help create a positive, accountable field culture and hold crews to company standards.
  • Use JobTread, Google Drive, and other company systems daily to manage projects, documentation, schedules, and communication.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of construction project management, field supervision, or construction operations experience.
  • Experience managing multiple active projects and crews simultaneously, ideally in an environment with shorter project timelines and frequent job turnover.
  • Experience working with both residential customers and commercial partners such as builders and general contractors is highly preferred.
  • Strong subcontractor and crew management experience, including scheduling, accountability, and problem-solving.
  • Experience coordinating materials, equipment, labor, and other field logistics.
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules, change orders, quality control, and project documentation.
  • Comfortable spending significant time in the field rather than managing projects exclusively from an office.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to reprioritize quickly when field conditions or schedules change.
  • Comfortable learning and consistently using technology, including Google Drive, JobTread, and CRM/project management systems.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Experience That Could Be a Great Fit

Direct hardscape or paver experience is highly desirable, but we are also interested in candidates from other fast-paced construction environments where managing multiple crews, customers, projects, materials, and schedules is part of the day-to-day operation.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • Hardscape and paver construction
  • Landscape construction
  • Pool construction
  • Outdoor living construction
  • Residential remodeling
  • Restoration
  • Roofing or exterior construction
  • Concrete or masonry
  • Other high-volume residential or light commercial construction

This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If...

This position is highly hands-on and fast-paced. It may not be the right fit for someone whose experience has primarily involved managing one large commercial project over an extended period, overseeing work from a distance, or working primarily from an office.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to the work—visiting jobsites, leading crews, coordinating logistics, solving problems, communicating with customers, and making sure the entire field operation stays on track.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $95,000
  • Performance-based commission/incentive opportunity
  • Company vehicle and tools provided
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of field operations within a growing company where your impact will be visible every day. You'll work across a variety of residential and commercial hardscape projects, build relationships with customers and construction partners, lead crews and subcontractors, and play an important role in helping the company continue to grow.

If you're a construction leader who enjoys the pace of multiple active projects and would rather be solving problems in the field than sitting behind a desk all day, we'd love to hear from you.
