Hardware Design Engineer / Penang, Malaysia

Tasks:

  • development of Hardware Boards in the field of embedded computing
    • support technical definition of products for planned projects
    • development of hardware designs including schematics design, redesign during product life cycle
    • Get involved with Hardware related programming e.g. for CPLD, FPGA, special function controllers (no board or micro controller programming)
    • release design into production such as prototypes and pilots build, as well as testing against industry specifications
  • create relevant documents needed to document designs such as schematics and layout with the relevant SW-programs and descriptive documentation about the developed HW product
  • selection of suitable components based on documents and tests including second source components and other alternative components
  • consideration of manufacture and test ability (according strategy), DFC, DFL and incorporate requested changes according to DFM, DFT
  • manage documents in the systems (Arena, Cadence Allegro) over the whole life cycle
  • analyze and solve product issues during life cycle

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • min. 4 years professional experience in a related field
  • Design knowledge of embedded design - power management, high-speed design and mix-signal design.
  • Skills to program HW and test systems
  • Knowledge and experience in module/ motherboard design, ARM processor, x86 processor and embedded processor will be an added advantage.
  • Experienced in working with tools such as Cadence Allegro (schematic, layout), JIRA, Confluence, Arena and Project folder (data management) will be an added advantage
