About the Role
As a Hardware Engineer within the Audio Video & Control team, you will have the opportunity to work within the legendary BSS and AMX brands and join a highly motivated cross-functional team comprised of hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, and production teams as we create the next generation of networked Professional AV solutions.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and eager to excel, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and provide technical support to engineers and cross-functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
What You Will Do
Work within a dedicated multi-disciplinary team to develop new product hardware for our next generation of networked AV signal processing solutions.
Lead the full PCB development cycle in the creation of next generation Audio, Video, and Control Electronics Products. You will be performing schematic capture, SPICE simulations, and multi-layer layout design
Develop test plans and conduct hardware testing of new board designs to deliver the performance, reliability, and precision trusted by professionals worldwide
Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and testing teams to define system interfaces, resolve cross-domain design trade-offs, and accelerate the overall product timeline.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in mixed signal circuit design
Ability to drive system-level hardware architecture decisions such as translating complex product requirements into actionable design choices
Demonstrate proficiency with bench equipment including DMMs, logic analyzers, audio analyzers, and oscilloscopes to debug complex mixed-signal hardware and thoroughly evaluate design performance.
Experience implementing and troubleshooting serial communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, I2S, and USB
What is Nice to Have
Strong understanding of analog audio hardware design principles and digital audio hardware design including A/D and D/A.
Familiarity with incorporating FPGAs, microprocessors, ASICs, and DSPs into complex hardware designs.
Familiarity with various highspeed digital interfaces such as USB, ethernet, DDR3/4/5, MIPI, PCIe, HDMI, and more
In-depth knowledge of audio measurement techniques and hands-on experience using Audio Precision analyzers to evaluate audio performance.
Experience with EMC compliance and testing, including designing for low EMI and troubleshooting regulatory issues during product development.
Experience developing, writing, and debugging automated test procedures using Python, C, or other scripting languages.
Previous experience in the HiFi audio or Professional AV industry.
