Hardware Engineer (Part-Time / Freelance)
Summary
Part-time freelance hardware engineer to finalize a communication switching device, complete PCB layout, component selection, and testing before production release.
N-iX is looking for a Hardware Engineer to complete the development of a communication switching device.
The position is part of a planned team expansion due to the expected increase in workload.
The current Hardware Engineer will complete the prototype and bring it to the first stage of testing. After that, the project will be handed over to the new Hardware Engineer for identified fixes, further iterations, and preparation and release of the production series. A direct technical handover is planned.
Responsibilities:
- Complete the schematic
- Complete PCB layout/routing
- Complete component selection
- Prepare and support manufacturing at JLCPCB
- Prepare the test plan together with the team
- Perform testing using target equipment and an oscilloscope
- Record and fix identified defects
- Prepare the next PCB iteration
- Support CE certification
- Cooperate with Mechanical Engineers on enclosure design and mechanical integration
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of Hardware Engineering experience
- Pre-Intermediate English or higher
- Experience working with Altium Designer, Altium 365, GitHub, Jira, MS Teams, SharePoint
Working Model
- Part-time / Freelance
- High-level tasks with independent technical decomposition
- Jira + short sync meetings approximately once every two days
- N-iX-provided laptop and Altium license
