On-site hardware technician installs, repairs, and maintains desktops, servers, peripherals, and teleconferencing gear while troubleshooting connectivity issues in a secure government environment.
Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Technician to support one of our important partners, delivering secure, resilient, and mission-critical capabilities across a complex environment. This project assists in the delivery of regional IT services to the end user offering support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. This role requires independent and team-based execution, proactive analysis to identify root causes, and the ability to support resilient infrastructure solutions.
This position is eligible for a $10k Welcome Bonus to be paid out in increments of $5k after 90 days and $5k after a year!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment
- Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling
- Follow standard operating procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, including the use of ticketing systems and documentation
- Support network upgrade projects or initiatives
- Support end-user connectivity needs Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems in alignment with operational and mission requirements
- Configure and maintain operating systems and network components, implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Support escalation processes and provide timely status updates to stakeholders and leadership
- Support hardware dispatch and remain engaged through full lifecycle resolution of system issues
Required:
- Highly skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
- An Active Security Clearance with Polygraph.
- Well-versed in installing various software applications and Microsoft Windows
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
- Able to manage time and priorities effectively
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in working with end-users remotely
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
- Familiar with Active Directory security and policies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; periodic work in tight areas.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must possess certifications to demonstrate CWIP compliance (A+, Net+ or Sec+)
