Head, Carbon Neutral Transformation & Energy Transition

Lead and support projects under the Carbon Neutral TransformationDepartment (CNX), focusing on decarbonization strategies, green fuel supplychains, and regional collaboration to achieve Idemitsu’s goal of carbonneutrality by 2050.

Job Description

  • Drive feasibility studies and businessdevelopment for Carbon Neutral Transformation (CNX) projects in Singapore andAsia (e.g., Biofuel, Bio feedstock, SAF, Green Methanol, Ammonia supplychains).
  • Coordinate with the Company’s trading arm fortrading opportunities.
  • Support investment evaluations andpartnership negotiations for energy transition initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for seniormanagement on progress and market intelligence.
  • Formulate the strategy of the Carbon Neutral Transformation Department and set its annualand medium-term business plans and priorities.
  • Provide leadership to the department team and manage the human resources of thedepartment, including staffing plans, work allocation and performancemanagement.
  • Take responsibility for the departmental budget, including its planning andallocation and the monitoring of expenditure against approved plans.
  • Coordinate with regional stakeholders, including government agencies, industryassociations, customers and business partners in Singapore and the wider Asian region.
  • Act as the Company’s external representative in matters relating to the carbon neutral transformation and energy transition business, including industry forums,conferences and meetings with external parties.
  • Manage and develop subordinates, including day-to-day supervision, coaching, training and support for their career development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Idemitsu group companies in Japan and Asia-Pacific, and act as the principal point of contact for the headquarters onCNX matters.
  • Such other duties as the Company may assign or vest in you from time to time.

Requirements

  • Minimum15 years of working experience in the energy or petroleum industry.
  • Around 5 years of experience in renewable fuels, such as bio feedstock, bio fuel, green methanol, SAF trading or business development.
  • Strong understanding of maritime, aviation sector and low carbon business and policy, regulation.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-border projects and engage with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Experiencein formulating departmental strategy, leading a team, managing human resources and taking responsibility for a departmental budget.
  • Relevant University Degree
  • Fluency in Japanese and English is required (ability to handle documents in Japanese and English and communicate daily with colleagues and stakeholders at headquarters).
