About the Role

YALONG BAY SEAFOOD RESTAURANT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the daily operations of our Chinese seafood restaurant kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for menu execution, food quality, kitchen management, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards while delivering an excellent dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic Chinese cuisine, specialising in seafood dishes.
  • Plan, develop and update menus in consultation with management.
  • Lead, supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the kitchen team.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation and portion control.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with SFA food hygiene, food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Train, mentor and supervise junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Manage kitchen workflow efficiently during peak operating hours.
  • Work closely with management on menu improvements, food costing and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a chef in a Chinese restaurant.
  • Experience in preparing Chinese seafood dishes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Willing to work weekends, public holidays and split shifts where operationally required.

  • 6-day work week.
