Overall Job Objectives:

The Head Chef is responsible for leading and overseeing kitchen operations across the assigned Korean restaurant concept(s), ensuring consistent food quality, operational efficiency, food safety, and a high standard of guest experience.

The role will lead the culinary team, develop and maintain recipes and kitchen standards, manage food costs and inventory, and ensure smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume dining environment. The Head Chef will also support the business in maintaining the restaurant's Korean culinary standards while adapting operations to Singapore's market and regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient service and consistent operational standards.

  • Manage, train, coach, and develop the kitchen team while maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment.

  • Ensure consistent food quality, taste, presentation, portioning, and adherence to standard recipes and preparation methods.

  • Maintain the restaurant's Korean and Asian culinary standards, recipes, and food preparation methods.

  • Monitor food costs, inventory, purchasing, stock rotation, and wastage to support cost-effective operations.

  • Ensure compliance with Singapore food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.

  • Conduct regular quality and kitchen checks and implement corrective actions when necessary.

  • Collaborate with management on menu development, new product testing, promotions, and operational improvements.

  • Monitor customer feedback and continuously improve food quality, service efficiency, and overall kitchen performance.

  • Support new outlet openings, menu launches, kitchen setup, and other culinary projects as required.

Job Specifications:

  • A diploma or degree in culinary qualification or professional kitchen training is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or senior kitchen leadership role

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience working with Korean or Asian cuisine is an advantage.

  • Experience in casual dining or restaurants with high customer turnover is beneficial.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on business needs.
