OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE

As Head Hostess, you will oversee the front-of-house greeting team at Bahrain Surf Park's restaurant outlets, ensuring every guest's dining journey begins with genuine warmth, elegance, and Aloha Spirit.

You will manage table reservation platforms, seating allocations, queue waitlists during peak periods, VIP arrivals, podium desk presentation, and lead the hostess team in delivering memorable first and last impressions.



WHAT YOU DO:

Role Responsibilities:
General Requirements

  • Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, hygiene protocols, and departmental SOPs at all times.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of food and beverage offerings, BSP promotions, and current operational initiatives.
  • Support team objectives and contribute positively to the working environment.
  • Participate actively in daily briefings, training sessions, and development programs.
  • Follow departmental opening and closing checklists to ensure operational readiness and compliance.

Entrance & Reservation Management

  • Reservation System Oversight: Manage restaurant reservation software, review booking sheets, and optimize table seating plans before service.
  • Floor Allocation: Assign table seating for reservations, walk-in guests, and group bookings to balance waiter section workloads.
  • Queue & Waitlist Control: Manage guest waitlists during peak dining hours smoothly, providing accurate wait time estimates and comforting waiting guests.

Hostess Team Leadership

  • Team Supervision: Supervise hostesses during shift hours, ensuring warm greetings, proper dress standards, and courteous communication.
  • Pre-Shift Briefing: Lead hostess briefings regarding daily VIP reservations, special dietary notes, event bookings, and seating guidelines.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the reservations and hostess team through structured SOP and service training.
  • Reinforce company vision, operational goals, and performance expectations through daily briefings.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of the restaurant concept, menu offerings, promotions, and guest experience standards.
  • Ensure all reservations, reports, and administrative tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of events in collaboration with the Chef and management team.
  • Verify completion of all hostess and reservations department checklists.

VIP & Special Event Care

  • VIP Reception: Personally greet arriving VIPs, resort executives, and media guests, escorting them to reserved tables and briefing Head Waiters.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate with Sales & Events teams for private dining setups, birthday celebrations, and group arrivals.

Podium Elegance & Feedback

  • Podium Maintenance: Maintain immaculate presentation at the reception desk, podium, and entry foyer.
  • Guest Departure Care: Bid farewell to departing guests, collect initial dining feedback, and handle telephone booking inquiries professionally.


Required Qualification

ü Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Communications, or related field (preferred).

ü Food Handler / Food Safety certification (Required).

ü Fluent Arabic and English speaker (Required).

Required Experience

ü Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a hostess or receptionist in high-volume restaurants, beach clubs, or luxury hotels, with at least 1 year in a Head Hostess or lead role.

ü Demonstrated experience with restaurant reservation systems (e.g., SevenRooms, OpenTable) and guest queue management.

Required Professional Skills and Attributes

ü Polished communication, poise, and interpersonal skills.

ü Proficiency in reservation software platforms, MS Office, and telephone etiquette.

ü Ability to manage floor seating plans and optimize table turn rates.

ü Calm, gracious problem-solving under busy entrance rush pressure.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

ü Entrance CSAT: Achieve guest entrance and greeting satisfaction ratings of 95% or above.

ü Reservation System Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy on booking details, special notes, and seat assignments.

ü Guest Seating Efficiency: Ensure walk-in and reserved guests are seated within target wait times.

ü Phone Inquiry Response SLA: Maintain prompt, polite telephone reservation response standards.
