Head of Accounting/Operations

A leading international Corporate & Investment Bank is seeking a Head of Accounting/Operations to oversee the core finance, operational, and technology functions for its Singapore branch. Reporting directly to the Branch CEO / General Manager, this role provides strategic leadership and governance across Accounting, Trade Operations, Loan Administration, Settlements, and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational & Financial Governance: Lead branch support functions, cost management, and operational risk controls in alignment with local standards and Head Office guidelines.

• Financial & Regulatory Oversight: Direct all financial accounting, tax computations (FATCA/CRS), statutory audits, and MAS regulatory reporting.

• Operations & IT Leadership: Provide executive management across Trade Operations, Corporate Loan Admin, Middle Office, Remittances/Settlements, and IT infrastructure.

• HQ & Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the main liaison between Singapore leadership and global Head Office teams for strategic projects, audits, and performance tracking.

Requirements:

• Experience: 15+ years in banking operations and financial control, with at least 5 years in a senior executive leadership role.

• Domain Expertise: Proven track record running core CIB branch operations (Trade Finance, Corporate Lending, Settlements) alongside financial reporting oversight.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with MAS regulations, Banking Act requirements, and statutory frameworks; experience within a foreign/European banking branch is highly preferred.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA/CA qualifications advantageous).
