Head of Brand & Story
We are hiring a Head of Brand and Story to own how Paires shows up everywhere: the content we publish, the story the press carries, and the answers AI assistants give when founders ask about us.
Paires is where founders come to raise capital. We pair them with the right investors from a large, engaged global investor network, then our agents manage the relationships that turn into meetings. It is a two-sided platform, live with paying clients, profitable and self-funded, built by a small, senior, flat team that ships fast.
The role
Companies used to split this work into departments: content, communications, search. The internet stopped respecting those borders. A founder deciding where to raise sees your LinkedIn post, asks ChatGPT who to trust, and reads what Google's AI assembles, all in one afternoon, and every one of those surfaces is either working for you or sitting empty. This seat owns all of them. You set the narrative and you make the work: the posts and scripts in your own writing, the podcasts and sit-downs you run, the citable pages AI engines quote, the coverage you pitch and land, the entity story every platform repeats. Head of one, reporting directly to the co-founders, with the authority the title implies and none of the meetings.
What you will own
The narrative: Paires' voice, positioning in the wild, and the story founders and investors meet before they ever talk to us.
The content itself, made by you: short-form on LinkedIn and X, long-form podcasts and sit-downs with successful founders and investors.
The citable layer: answer pages, comparison pages, and a newsroom, structured so AI engines can parse, trust, and quote Paires as the source.
Earned media: trade press, newsletters, and podcast placements, pitched and landed by you, plus a quarterly data asset journalists want to cite.
The entity record: one canonical company story on every platform and directory, maintained forever.
The measurement loop: share of voice across AI answers and search, reach, inbound, and what prospects mention on calls.
You are a fit if you
Have owned a brand's public story end to end and can prove you made it yourself: writing we can read, placements you landed personally, accounts you grew, share-of-voice or traffic numbers you know from memory.
Live in the startup and venture world already: daily on LinkedIn and X in the niche, fluent in the rounds, the funds, and the discourse, because it is genuinely your world.
Still do the making: hooks, posts, pages, pitches, in your own hand. If your last three years were approving other people's work, this is the wrong seat.
Understand how AI answer engines choose their sources, and have shipped work built for citation: structure, schema, entity consistency, third-party weight.
Have landed coverage yourself and pick press targets by citation value, not the vanity of the masthead.
Want the whole canvas, solo: strategy, creation, placement, measurement, tied to revenue.
Bonus: time inside a fund, startup, or capital-markets business; a data story that earned citations and coverage; hands-on time with AI visibility tracking tools; experience directing an external content vendor.
What we offer
Fully remote and async. Your day overlaps with US Eastern time for a few hours, because that is when this audience is online, not full US hours. Meetings batch on Mondays and Thursdays, the rest is deep work. The best AI tooling, paid (Claude Code, Cursor, top models). Direct access to the co-founders, full creative authority, and a green field: first brand hire, whole public side of the company, yours.
How to apply: hit apply, which takes you to our short application form. We read every application.

Name, Email, Resume
- What's the content or brand win you're proudest of? A brand you ran or your own page, size matters less than what you made yourself and why it worked. Share the numbers you know, drop the links or handles, and tell us about one piece that flopped and what you changed because of it. written answer
- How do AI tools actually fit into your daily workflow right now? What have you automated, what do you refuse to automate, and what is one thing you changed in your AI stack in the last six months - and why? written answer
- Ask ChatGPT or Perplexity a question a founder raising capital would ask, and look at which brands get named and which sources get cited. Pick one brand that wins and break down why: which pages, why those pages structurally, what the brand did to earn the spot. What would you ship first at Paires to take one of those spots? written answer
- What draws you to the venture and startup space? Tell us what genuinely excites you in it right now, and which channels or accounts you follow yourself, and why those. written answer
- ost companies split this into three jobs: content, PR, and search. We think the internet stopped respecting those borders, so this seat owns all of it. What speaks to you about that, and which of the three would you attack first at Paires, and why? written answer
