Head of Business Change

  • Hybrid working role - offering 2 days a week from home
  • Choice of office location - Gateshead, Maidenhead or Edinburgh
Reporting into the Chief Digital Officer - and with the support of a small team - the Head of Business Change (BC) plays a pivotal role in driving transformation across Pulsant, owning the BC agenda and ensuring this is aligned to our strategic priorities. This (newly created) role - in conjunction with the CDO - is responsible for planning and delivering the transformation priorities that will drive the greatest impact across the business.

This is not just a delivery role — it requires a leader who influences prioritisation decisions, confidently manages competing stakeholder demands, and maintains a clear view of where effort should be focused. The role leads both Business Analysis, Process Improvement and Project Delivery capabilities and works across the organisation and with third parties to implement effective, scalable solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader passionate about transformation, with the gravitas to influence at all levels, the skill to facilitate effective decisions, and the drive to embed a culture of meaningful, sustained Business Change.
Business Change Leadership
  • Manage the Business Change (BC) agenda for Pulsant, ensuring all BC activity — across people, process, systems, and data — is aligned to strategic priorities and focused on delivering the highest impact for the business.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate a clear roadmap of BC activities, providing visibility of priorities, dependencies, timelines and outcomes.
  • Ensure BC initiatives are prioritised based on strategic value and impact, supporting on what will — and what will not — be progressed at any given time.
  • Represent the BC agenda at pillar boards, working groups, and senior forums, providing regular updates on progress, priorities, and outcomes.
Stakeholder Management & Prioritisation
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across all functions, acting as a credible and influential partner in shaping change requirements and expectations.
  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and working groups to surface requirements, reach effective decisions, and drive clarity on end-to-end process improvements.
Project Delivery
  • Accountability for the delivery of the agreed initiatives through oversight of scrum methodologies that indirectly manage internal application delivery, business functional responsibilities and any third-party activities.
Process Improvement & Workshop Facilitation
  • Lead the design and facilitation of business analysis and process workshops, bringing together the right people to map, challenge, and improve end-to-end processes across the business.
  • Drive effective decision-making within workshops and working groups, ensuring sessions result in clear actions, owners, and agreed outcomes rather than prolonged debate.
  • Ensure improvements are embedded and sustained, working with operational teams to change behaviours and ways of working, not just processes on paper.
People Leadership
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support across the teams, fostering a high-performance environment focused on delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for team members, supporting their professional development and growth.
  • Experience managing change and delivering process improvement initiatives in a technology/technical environment
  • Experience gathering, synthesising and prioritising requirements and building a road-map, then delivering change through to adoption
  • Strong understanding of business change and portfolio management principles and concepts
  • Proficiency with process mapping and data tools and platforms
  • Able to work both at a strategic level as well as hands on and in the detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical problems into business value for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of project and scrum delivery principles
If you’re excited about this opportunity but don’t meet every requirement listed above, we still encourage you to apply. We value transferable experience and potential - and you might be exactly who we’re looking for!
  • A supportive work environment with a focus on career growth, learning and development, work life balance and well-being.
  • A friendly, family-like atmosphere where almost half of the team have been with Pulsant for 5+ years.
  • Benefits include 5% pension contributions, private healthcare, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, EV scheme, free breakfast and snacks, Udemy license and more.
  • Leave benefits - in addition to your annual leave you get your birthday day off, annual wellbeing day and 2 x charity days per year.
