We are seeking a highly experienced strategic leader to drive the mid- to long-term business strategy, portfolio management, and product planning for a high-impact oncology-focused business unit. This role offers the opportunity to shape the unit’s direction, oversee a portfolio of initiatives and projects, and influence executive-level decisions. Prior oncology experience is not required—what matters is strong strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities.

You will lead a small, senior team of strategy professionals, managing multiple strategic initiatives and product planning activities across functions. Your guidance will directly impact organizational priorities, growth opportunities, and long-term competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute mid- to long-term business strategy and translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives.

  • Lead portfolio management, overseeing multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives to ensure alignment, prioritization, and optimal resource allocation.

  • Drive product planning and strategy, ensuring initiatives and product decisions support organizational objectives and growth.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of senior strategy professionals, ensuring excellence in deliverables and execution.

  • Act as the key liaison between Strategy and other departments, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, and Sales, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment across functions.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations that drive executive decision-making.

  • Identify growth opportunities through data-driven analysis, market insights, and creative problem-solving.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in strategy, portfolio management, business development, or management consulting; prior consulting experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries.

  • Proven success managing cross-functional initiatives and senior professionals.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA highly desirable. Scientific background is a plus.

  • Native-level Japanese and high business proficiency in English.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence and align senior leadership.

Preferred Experience:
  • Exposure to oncology is welcome but not required.

Benefits

This is a rare opportunity to lead high-visibility strategic initiatives, portfolio management, and product planning within a fast-growing oncology business unit. You will directly shape the unit’s strategy, influence executive decisions, and lead a senior team—all in a dynamic, high-impact environment. If you thrive on complexity, cross-functional collaboration, and driving transformation, this role is for you.
