Head of Capital Formation

As Head of Capital Formation, you will lead all fundraising and investor-related initiatives for the firm, reporting directly to the CIO and group CEO. You will build and execute the firm's capital-raising strategy, develop relationships with institutional and high-net-worth investors, and position the firm as a trusted, best-in-class asset manager. You will design and drive the global fundraising strategy across institutional investors, family offices, UHNWIs, and strategic partners, own senior-level investor relationships, lead due diligence processes, and shape investor materials and the firm's external narrative. Over time, you will also build and manage a capital formation and investor relations team, playing a critical role in shaping the firm's growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute the firm's global capital formation strategy across institutional investors, family offices, UHNWIs, and strategic partners
  • Lead fundraising for flagship and future strategies such as hedge funds, managed accounts, and structured products
  • Build a scalable fundraising pipeline from first contact through allocation and continuous engagement
  • Advise leadership on product positioning, fee structures, and investor appetite
  • Own senior-level relationships with current and prospective investors
  • Articulate the firm's investment philosophy, strategy, performance, and risk management framework
  • Lead investor due diligence processes, including meetings, DDQs, and operational reviews
  • Work closely with investment and operations teams to ensure consistent and accurate investor communications
  • Develop and refine investor materials including pitch decks, PPMs, factsheets, and performance reports
  • Shape the firm's external narrative and go-to-market messaging
  • Represent the firm at conferences, roadshows, and industry events
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the founding team on strategic growth initiatives
  • Build and manage a capital formation and investor relations team over time
  • Help establish best-practice fundraising and compliance processes suitable for institutional allocators

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience in capital raising, investor relations, or business development within asset management, hedge funds, or alternatives
  • Proven track record of raising capital from institutional investors, family offices, and/or UHNWIs
  • Strong understanding of crypto and digital asset markets; prior direct crypto experience preferred
  • Experience working in a startup or early-stage fund environment is a plus
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to close allocations
  • High credibility with sophisticated allocators
  • Self-starter comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, regulatory considerations, and investor due diligence expectations
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives a plus
