Make a difference. Lead with care. Inspire your team.

Are you an experienced care professional ready to take the next step in your career? At Nellsar, we’re looking for a passionate and supportive Head of Care to join the team at Lulworth House, helping us deliver outstanding, person-centred care and creating a positive environment for both residents and colleagues.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead by example, supporting the care team on the floor while working closely with the Home Manager to maintain high standards of care, safety and quality.

About the role

Working alongside the Home Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care and support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Home Manager with daily operations and deputising in their absence.
  • Leading, supporting and developing Team Leaders, Senior Care Assistants and Care Assistants.
  • Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, resident records and medication processes.
  • Promoting safeguarding, quality assurance and compliance with CQC requirements.
  • Supporting audits, inspections, incident reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Working alongside the care team on the floor and providing oversight of night-time operations when required.
  • Supporting admissions, building positive relationships with residents’ families and encouraging staff development and training.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, organised and confident in leading a team, with a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

You will need:

  • An RQF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least two years’ experience in a senior or supervisory care role within a regulated care setting.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, risk management and person-centred care.
  • Experience of safe medication management and medication audits.
  • Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and digital skills.
  • The ability to lead by example, motivate colleagues and promote a culture of learning and improvement.

A Level 4 or Level 5 adult care qualification would be desirable, alongside experience of audits, appraisals, deputising for a Home Manager or supporting a transition to nursing care.

Why join us?

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your care experience, develop your leadership skills and make a real difference to the lives of residents and the colleagues who support them. You’ll play an important part in shaping a positive home environment where people feel valued, respected and supported.
