ISS STOXX is seeking a Head for the Custom Calculation Services team within the Index Operations Group to join our team in Gurgaon, India.
Overview:
For our office in India (Gurugram), we are currently looking for an experienced Custom Calculation Services Head, willing to build, develop, and manage a team for STOXX’s Custom Calculation Services. The team will be responsible for the configuration, calculation and dissemination of custom QIS indices under ISS STOXX Index mandate. The successful candidate will play a key role in liaising with the ISS STOXX Clients, to optimize the day to day Custom Calculation Services activities and the launch of custom indices. The successful candidate will also work in close collaboration with various ISS STOXX stakeholders to ensure best practice and compliance to Operations Department policies, new rules definition based on clients requirements, coding of tools in python, and coordination of the automation processes with the technology department. Responsibilities:
Lead the team in delivering top quality service, service level agreements, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with existing client for service management calls, and pitching onboarding new clients.
Drive process improvements to ensure consistent data quality and efficiency, such as automation of data quality diagnostics by developing a new system/tool that will enable quality assessment of data without manual intervention.
Ensure the correctness of daily index calculation for derivative and strategy/QIS indices.
Monitor configuration of indices to ensure that corporate actions adjustments for equities and periodic reviews of the custom indices are processed correctly.
Supervise input data feeds according to Custom Index Methodology specification, identify changes and coordinate adjustments.
Monitor and evaluate index constituents, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Identify and assess potential risks associated with index composition and market changes.
Contribute to the creation of presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide subject matter expertise on index set-up and maintenance, markets impacts and anticipate market expectations.
Develop new python tools, specify requirements for technical
development and test new applications/tools from end to end Document processes and workflows in the Custom Calculation Services Unit.
Qualifications:
Hold a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related field. CFA of FRM designation is a plus.
8+ years proven experience in Team Management or a related role with in-depth knowledge of Financial Markets Industry, strategy indices, investment products, & Portfolio Management. At least 5 years experience in QIS, derivative and optimisation based indices.
Demonstrate leadership and team management skills, including strong organizational skills, capability to prioritize and strategic thinking abilities.
Has strong communication and relationship-building and Stakeholder engagement skills.
Effective communication skills for conveying complex information.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation.
Be able to work under pressure and to handle multiple tasks time-efficient and autonomously in parallels and work on tight deadlines.
Be able to work and learn autonomously without minimum of supervision and training (self-starter/self-learner).
Be a team-player, customer orientated attitude and ability to act as a proactive, independent team player with hands-on mentality.
Knowledge of MS Office applications; VBA, optimisation, SQL skills. Python is critical. Axioma Portfolio Optimiser would be a differentiator.
Knowledge of market data vendors (i.e. Refinitiv, Bloomberg, SIX, ICE) is a must.
Fluent in English both oral and written.
Knowledge/ Fluent in a second language (Asian (Chinese, Japanese and or Korean) or European ( French, Spanish, German) would be a strong advantage.
