Summary

Leads project management digital and data initiatives for BAE Systems' Air Sector, setting standards and improving capabilities for large, complex defense projects.

Head of Data & Digital Capability

Would you like to lead PM Digital and Capability activities across the Air Sector team and support the delivery of the PM functional strategy? We have a vacancy for a Head of Data & Digital Capability in our site in Warton.

As Head of Data & Digital Capability you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the project management and controls function, and set the data and digital agenda in collaboration with cross-sector colleagues.

Your main responsibilities as a Head of Data & Digital Capability will include\:

· Leading PM Digital and Capability activities across the Air Sector team and supporting the delivery of the PM functional strategy

· Sharing and guiding others with key project management expertise, governance and functional capability across the PM data and digital capability portfolio of projects

· Leading PM functional data and digital capability development for the Air Sector and continuously improving it to ensure it is applied in the most efficient and effective manner

· Ensuring essential procedures are followed and to helping to define the standards around which others will operate across a range of large, complex, high value and strategically important projects/programmes

· Managing a cross-sector team, delivering results and providing coaching and mentoring within the wider business

· Providing functional thought leadership as a member of the PM improvement steering boards at the sector level.

· Anticipating issues across a wide range of data and digital projects/programmes, dealing with emergent issues and escalating problems where required.

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills

· Ideally a background in project management with knowledge of a range of PM/ project controls tools and systems, or a broad understanding of data and digital

· Resilient, pro-active, and curious nature – able to drive change over the long term and manage change-fatigue

· Ability to manage a team and lead in matrix environments

· Knowledge of the air sector may be beneficial but not essential

Location\: Warton (minimum 3 days per week on site)

Grade\: GG13
