A well-established consumer payments business with a global footprint is hiring a Head of Data. They’ve just launched a new payments product and are expanding fast across new markets and networks.
Data sits at the centre of what’s next. The platform is already mid-migration to Databricks. What’s needed now is a leader who can sharpen the strategy, rebuild the team’s capability and turn data into something the whole business trusts and uses.
This is not a blank slate. It suits someone who has rebuilt a data function before, shifted how a business values data, and enjoys the challenge.

What you’ll do
- Set a clear, commercially grounded data strategy and roadmap
- Review the platform migration and decide what needs to change
- Lead, coach and grow a team of data engineers and analysts
- Stand up governance, ownership and a single trusted view of the customer
- Partner with Marketing on customer data, CDP and martech integration
- Own platform cost and budget decisions
- Drive self-service analytics and data literacy across the business
- Proven people leadership. You’ve grown a data team and managed performance, not just led on the tech
- A track record of driving change and building credibility for a data function
- Hands-on depth in modern data platforms, ideally Databricks or similar
- The ability to tie data investment to revenue, cost and risk
- Experience setting up governance and operating models
- Martech or customer data experience is a big plus
- Fintech or payments background is a bonus
- Report directly to the executive team, with full ownership of data
- Genuine mandate and budget to shape the function
- A business at an exciting growth point
