Head of Delivery Engineering
About the Role As the Associate VP, Head of Delivery Engineering, you will own the engineering strategy supporting live client delivery across multiple concurrent programs. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams, build reusable tools and automation, and act as the senior technical counterpart to client engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the engineering strategy and roadmaps for the AI/LLM Practice.
- Build reusable platforms, internal tools, and automation frameworks to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Lead engineering workstreams consisting of software engineers, data engineers, automation engineers, and technical leads.
- Manage a flexible workforce model combining permanent staff, contractors, and specialized consultants.
- Serve as the main engineering counterpart to client engineering, product, and platform leadership.
- Partner with commercial and delivery teams on technical solutioning, architecture, and pre-sales engineering estimation.
- Own the engineering budget, driving measurable cost-avoidance and revenue-enabling initiatives.
- Ensure strict compliance with enterprise security requirements, data handling standards, and development controls.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Proven background in shipping production systems and leading client-facing delivery engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise across software engineering, data science, data engineering, and applied AI.
- Deep experience organizing cross-functional technical teams (software, data, testing, leads) for concurrent client programs.
- Background managing blended workforce models involving permanent staff, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong track record in pre-sales support, technical architecture design, and client-facing stakeholder management.
- Experience managing engineering budgets, financial stewardship, and ROI tracking for tech initiatives.
Good-to-Have
- Experience with large language model (LLM) workflows and specialized AI practice delivery.
- Familiarity with enterprise software development controls and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
