About the opportunity
This newly created senior leadership opportunity will shape how technology delivery is governed, prioritised and delivered across Healthdirect Australia. Reporting to the General Manager, Technology, the Head of Delivery will establish a new delivery stream from the ground up, bringing greater discipline, visibility and rigour to technology programs while building the frameworks, processes and culture needed to deliver with consistency, transparency and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and lead a new delivery stream, building the frameworks, methods and culture needed to deliver technology programs with clarity, consistency and impact.
Drive portfolio governance, demand management and delivery oversight across major technology programs, ensuring priorities, risks, dependencies and resources are visible and well managed.
Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate organisational demand into well-sequenced, governed and high-value delivery outcomes.
Lead solutions architecture assurance, ensuring technology standards, design principles and integration decisions support secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
Oversee release coordination and quality assurance governance across the portfolio, embedding quality gates, readiness planning and continuous improvement into delivery practices.
Lead resource and capacity planning across delivery teams, supporting informed prioritisation and effective allocation of project, business analysis and contingent workforce resources.
Build, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
You’ll bring
Significant senior leadership experience in technology delivery, portfolio governance or release management within complex, multi-program environments.
A proven ability to establish, mature and embed delivery governance frameworks, PMO-style structures or equivalent delivery disciplines.
Strong executive partnering skills, with the confidence to influence across organisational boundaries and provide pragmatic, commercially aware advice.
Experience leading QA, release management, solutions architecture or related technology functions in a complex delivery environment.
A data-led approach to governance, prioritisation and decision-making, with the ability to design meaningful delivery metrics and performance reporting.
Experience managing vendors, partners, contractors or contingent workforce models, with the capability to lead teams through ambiguity and change.
